New year, new projects!

I've been ITCHING to swoop into a big room makeover the final couple of weeks, so for this one, Robert and I pulled it off in a single solar day! (New tape, for sure.)

And we managed to stay inside a fairly reasonable budget to gift a master sleeping accommodation makeover to a very sweet friend of ours.

This twelvemonth I'm giving myself grace in my usual resolutions. My attempts to get organized and alive a healthier lifestyle are my usual go-to goals every Jan. Yes, I'1000 going to sometimes fail, but I will always keep trying at those, New Years or non.

For this year's resolution, what I've really had on my centre is to beloved on others through acts of service. Afterwards the year we've had, I call back that's a pretty good resolution, to only show people you intendance about them through activeness. Back in August, we gifted our friend Kristina a powder room makeover, but while nosotros were at her firm doing that makeover, she showed me this pretty teal colour she had just painted her bedroom.

I knew right then I wanted to give that room a quick makeover too because it was such a nifty space, and there is seriously no one more deserving.

Kristina was Regan'southward preschool instructor last twelvemonth before the pandemic striking. And since then, she's become the sweetest friend who is also a cancer survivor, single mom, and gives so much to our kids' schoolhouse and our community.

But by replacing the blinds with woven shades and hanging these gauzy curtain panels, this room already felt so much larger! I couldn't do my usual hanging defunction "high and broad" considering the window butted upward the neighboring wall on the left side. But hanging them high made the window experience more like a argument.

I love light curtains against a dark wall color to go along a room feeling airy and bright.

Kristina already had a skillful bed and dresser, then we thankfully had a proficient starting indicate for furniture.

Hang Up Nature-Inspired Art

I hung upwards a couple pieces of abstract waterscapes I already had (saved from the McNay makeover where the fine art didn't quite fit) to add some involvement to the infinite.

Diffuse Essential Oils to Awaken Senses

I'k a big believer in placing essential oil diffusers on nightstands (peculiarly during the winter months when fighting a cold), so this rattan diffuser was perfect. This trio of oils is a not bad starter set. I similar using eucalyptus to open up airways, lavender to save anxiety and indisposition, and peppermint for an energy boost.

This little marble tray is handy for corralling jewelry, remotes, and whatever other trinkets. And this gold bladder frame is then pretty that I bought one for our house besides.
